How to Create Your First Offer with Koala Upsells & Gifts


Setup guide


You can use our interactive setup guide to assist you step by step in creating your first offer. Here’s what you need to do:


  1. Activate app embed in Shopify.


  1. Create your first offer.


  1. Confirm your offer is working properly.


  1. Join our Koala Apps community.




Creating an offer manually


  1. Create a Gift


  • Click the 'Create a Gift offer' button.


  1. Select gift offer exposure


  • Select the gift offer that best fits your promotion from our templates.


  1. Offer rules


  • Choose the products that will qualify for the gift offer.


  1. Reward behavior


Decide how the gift offer works:


  • Automatically add products to cart – The gift is automatically added to cart when the required item is added.


  • Give customers a choice of products to add – Let the customer select their gift from a list of products.


Note: When selecting 'Give customers a choice of products to add', the gift will be automatically added to the cart after the customer selects it from a pop-up list.Here's a preview example:


  1. Number of times to give the reward


  • Choose how many times you can receive the reward, in case you meet the offer's conditions multiple times.


Customers will receive the reward every time they meet the rules, up to the number entered.Check the 'Allow unlimited rewards' box to allow rewards every time without restriction (e.g. Buy One Get One)


  1. Reward


  • Select at least 1 product in the Reward section.


  1. Status


  • Activate offer and save changes.


  1. App embed settings.


  • Go to Online Store.
  • Customize.
  • Click the app embed icon.
  • Enable Koala Gifts.


Optional


  1. Schedule


  • Choose when your offer starts, with the option to set an end date as well.


Note: The Schedule section uses your current local time zone.


  1. 'Works in reverse'


  • When enabled, the gift product will be automatically removed from the cart if the trigger product is removed.


  1. Offer exposure


  • Reward picker popup - Shows a customizable popup to the customer to choose a gift.


  • Notification - Shows a notification when the gift is added to the cart.


  • Announcement bar - Show a top or bottom bar on your store and promote your offers.


  • Product page widget - Show a banner on the product page and promote your offers.


  1. Translations


  • Change the name of the offer’s discount code to match the languages available on your store.


Note: The languages displayed in the Translations section are those not set as your store’s default language.
