How to test an offer before publishing it to the live store

Here are two ways to make sure your offer works before activating it on the live store.

Duplicate & Test on a Draft Theme

Go to your Online Store from Shopify's Sales channels settings:

Click the 3 dots icon next to the Customize button of your live theme,
Click Duplicate.

Next, activate the app embed settings on the duplicated theme:

Click Online Store,
Select Themes,
And click Customize on your current live theme.

From the theme editor page, click the third icon called App embeds.

Activate Koala Gifts.

Note: Make sure to disable the embed settings from our app on the live store.This way, the offer will be displayed on the duplicated theme only.

Also, make sure to keep your offer active.In case it is disabled and set to draft, go to "Offers" > click "Actions" > "Activate".

And that's it! You may now test your offer on a draft theme to make sure everything works correctly, before publishing it to the live store

Development store

Another approach to test the offer would be on a development store. To do this, you would need to create one if you haven't already.

It's also worth mentioning that before you can create a development store to test and build apps or themes, you need to have a Shopify Partner account.

Download theme file of live store.

Upload theme to the development store.

Now, you can test the offers on a development store, before going live on the main store!
